Megabonk maps
Sources checked Megabonk Wiki world page, the Steam Desert achievement wording, and the megabonk.org Graveyard guide. Boss minute-marks are not copied where guides disagree.
You pick a map before the run. Forest is first. Desert unlocks by reaching Forest Tier 2, stage 2, as CL4NK — that wording is also a Steam achievement.
The world wiki describes Forest and Desert as three tiers each, and Graveyard as the map that does not follow that pattern.
Stages end in a boss. Miss the timer and a Final Swarm escalates, according to that wiki.
Graveyard adds a timed crypt, four keys, and Spooky Steve if you run the clock out. Exact minute markers differ between guides and may change with patches.
The store says the maps are randomly generated and full of bosses. The structure around that randomness is a map pick, then tiers, then stages. You do not walk from Forest into Desert through a door at the edge. You unlock Desert, then you choose it on the next run.
Forest
The wiki’s line: a green place, and everything tries to kill you. It is the only map at the start, the enemies begin as goblins, and trees and rocks are real collision. That is the map where you learn to move.
Community names for the tier bosses, from that world page only:
| Tier | Final boss named there | Also mentioned |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lil Bark | Chunkham the Terrible and a Stone Golem as minibosses on tiers 1 and 2 |
| 2 | Chadbark | Same miniboss note |
| 3 | Bark Vader | Tier 3 is also Sir Chadwell’s unlock |
Clearing Tier 1 and buying CL4NK is the bridge off this map. Robinette is Tier 2. Sir Chadwell is Tier 3.
Desert
The same page calls it hot, open, and meaner: fewer trees, more angles for enemies to walk in from. It also describes a sandstorm that cuts vision, and says the game puts at least one sandstorm in a Desert run. Charging a shrine during that storm is the Tornado weapon task, though the indexes disagree on whether one charge or several are required.
The unlock, in the Steam achievement’s words: teleport to the 2nd stage on Forest Tier 2 as CL4NK. The achievement is named Desert.
Desert is where a lot of weapon homework lives: tumbleweed drops, Scorpionussy for the Poison Flask, Wisps for Dragon’s Breath, the Bandit fight, Birdo’s airborne kills, and the Tier 1 and Tier 2 character clears (Ninja and Vlad).
Graveyard
A Steam post on 14 Dec 2025, the Spooky update, announced a new map, a new character, a new weapon, new items, and new bosses. Community guides treat that map as the Graveyard.
What the megabonk.org Graveyard guide and a widely shared Steam community guide agree on:
- The run starts in a timed crypt. Loot inside is optional. The door out matters more.
- Outside, red beams mark coffins. You want four keys from the guardians.
- If the crypt timer expires, Spooky Steve shows up. Beating him is tied to Roberto. You do not have to beat him to continue, according to the Steam guide.
- Big Bob is the crypt boss tied to the Scythe unlock on the weapon index.
The world wiki also said Graveyard has a single tier, unlike Forest and Desert. Later guides describe a multi-step crypt instead of three tier-bosses. Both can be “a different structure.” Your stage select is the check.
What carries between maps
Shrines, pots, and chests exist on all of them, with Graveyard notes swapping pots for pumpkins and adding a Balance shrine. The rules for those are on Shrines. The habits that survive the boss timer are on Later tiers.
