Megabonk characters

Sources checked Megabonk Wiki character table and the megabonk.org roster reviewed against v1.0.69. Steam’s store text still says 20 characters. Checked 20 Oct 2026.

Quick answer

Fox and Sir Oofie are available immediately. The other characters on community lists unlock through a task, then a Silver purchase in the Unlocks menu.

The Steam store description still says 20 characters. Both wikis cited here list 21, including characters added after the October 2025 store assets.

Build around the starting weapon and the passive. That pairing is the character. A second weapon is optional.

Per-level numbers below are only the ones both wikis print the same way. The rest may change with patches — read the in-game tooltip.

A character in Megabonk is a starting weapon plus a passive that grows while you level. The Steam pitch says “20 Characters with unique abilities.” The store asset timestamp on that page is 14 Oct 2025. The December 2025 Spooky patch announced a new character, and the two rosters below both list 21 names. Buy from the Unlocks tab after the task is done. The menu is the live list.

How to use the table

  • If a row says “one index also wants…”, do that extra step if the Unlocks menu still shows a lock. The menu text beats either wiki.
  • Desert characters assume you can select Desert. That map is the CL4NK trip described on Maps.
  • Starting weapons still have to be in your pool. If Roberto’s Scythe or Ninja’s Katana is a separate purchase, buy the weapon before you expect the character to matter.
  • Strengths are the reason to pick them, not a tier. Opinion routes are on Builds.

Hats are not characters. A 25 Jan 2026 Steam post for v1.0.64 said it added 21 hats. This page does not list them.
