Megabonk builds

Sources checked Character passives and weapon roles from the cited wikis. The ranking below is this site’s opinion, written 20 Oct 2026. It is not taken from a leaderboard sample.

Quick answer

This page is opinion. It is a reading order for people who do not want an interactive build tool, not a claim about the current highest clear.

Match the tome to the passive you already have. Sir Oofie wants Armor and block. CL4NK wants crit. Amog wants poison to keep spreading.

Do not copy a late-game weapon list onto a character you have not unlocked.

Numbers move with patches. If a tooltip no longer matches the character page, follow the tooltip and throw this ranking out.

Interactive build sites will tell you a full slot list for today’s version. Use those if you want a calculator. Use this if you want to know which direction is worth learning.

Comfortable — learn the game here

PickWhy this is the opinionWhat to take when it is offered
Sir Oofie, Sword, then AegisArmor per level is the most readable defense in the starter pair. Aegis is his own unlock (block damage with Armor), so the weapon is the same homework as the character.Armor, Health or Shield, Size. Cooldown once you are not dying.
Fox, FirestaffLuck each level is a quiet scaling stat. You are not managing a gimmick. You are taking better offers later in the same run.Damage, Cooldown, and Luck once you own the tome. The Luck tome itself is a rare drop, not Fox’s passive.
Megachad, AuraAura is “stand near them.” Flex is a panic button that also adds damage. The unlock is only Damage Tome level 7, which you will do anyway.Size and Cooldown, so the circle and the flex are up.

Specialist — the passive is the build

PickWhy this is the opinionWhat to take when it is offered
CL4NK, Revolver+1% crit per level is the whole character. Precision Tome is the tome that speaks the same language, and it is also the Sniper Rifle quest.Precision, Damage, Quantity if the revolver is counting projectiles.
Robinette, BowGold gain per level, and damage from gold you have not spent. The opinionated part: stop opening every chest the moment you can, or you turn the passive off.Golden Tome if you want even more gold. Damage still matters or the gold bonus has nothing to multiply.
Amog, Poison FlaskThe unlock is absurd (50,000 poisoned with Moldy Cheese) and the passive is about poison jumping. Only bother once you like damage-over-time.Cooldown and Duration, so the flasks keep a zone down.
Vlad, Blood MagicLifesteal per level on a weapon that can also raise max HP. A sustain run, not a first Forest clear.Bloody Tome, which is also the weapon’s unlock task.
Calcium, BoneSpeed feeds the damage. You have to keep moving, which you should be doing anyway.Agility, then Damage. Do not stand in a Charge Shrine and expect the passive to carry you.

Later — these make the run meaner

PickWhy it waitsOpinion on when to try it
Sir Chadwell, Corrupted SwordThe passive adds difficulty every level. Forest Tier 3 is the unlock, so you have already done the hard map. When a normal Tier 2 feels slow, not when you are still missing the boss timer.
Cursed Tome on anyone+3.5% difficulty per level, more enemies, more XP.After you can see a boss die with time left. It is a density tool.
Dicehead100 quests. The passive randomizes a stat or a reward, depending on which wiki you read. When you are bored of choosing. It is a chaos run, not a plan.
Noelle, Birdo, Ninja, BushEach one asks for a stunt: microwaves, airborne tornado kills, Desert tier plus a katana drop, or a Forest duel.Do the stunt as its own run. Do not expect the character to appear while you are trying to learn shrines.

What this page will not do

  • It will not rank all 21 characters S through D. That number would be fake precision.
  • It will not list six items per character. Item pools move, and this site is not maintaining a planner.
  • It will not tell you a boss dies at a specific minute. Timers in community Graveyard guides already disagree.

If the run is dying after the build “should” work, the problem is usually the map rule, not the tome. Read Later tiers before you respec a character you cannot respec.
